Yesterday the ASVÖ family sports day took place in Saalfelden for the eleventh time. The sports day is a festival for young and old, at which sports clubs from the region present themselves and offer visitors the opportunity to get to know and try out a wide variety of sports. This year the Peter Riedel GmbH together with the Austrian Ski Association presented the newly developed K1 ski jump. The local Skiclub of Saalfelden and the Austrian Ski Federation were jointly responsible for the implementation on site. Even small children can try themselves at ski jumping and gain their first experience on the small portable hill. The new construction was well received by young and old in Saalfelden and was in constant use throughout the festival.
As a special highlight, ski jumping star, World Champion and multiple World Cup Winner Sara Marita Kramer stopped by and provided the children with valuable tips.
“It's really cool that there is such an offer for children. As a child, I started skiing on a small hill without a track. It is great fun for the children to get a taste of ski jumping on the K1 hill. Some were really motivated and showed really great jumps. I've already seen some talents around”, said the high-flyer of Salzburg full of praise for the children.
For Michael Grubinger, project manager ski jumping in the ÖSV, it was the first big test for the new hill. “Our new K1 hill is perfect for introducing the children to the sport of ski jumping. You have to bring the sport closer to them, for that the hill is worth gold. Everything worked great from assembly to dismantling, the process ran smoothly and the children were very happy. The whole thing can be implemented only together with strong partners such as Peter Riedel GmbH and Hargassner from Weng im Innkreis, a big THANK YOU for the perfect cooperation. The children accepted the hill really well, and when a star like Sara Marita Kramer looks over their shoulder and gives them tips, that's doubly motivating."
Peter Riedel, who is responsible for the construction of the ski jump, personally convinced himself of the success of the project on site. “The mobile K1 ski jump is a project close to our hearts, because we like to work with and for the youngsters. When the children's eyes light up like in Saalfelden, that's really great. That is why we participated financially in the entire project. We are happy that the ski jump has been so well received and hope that many children will be enthusiastic about ski jumping. "
