The Peter Riedel GmbH is expanding its already sophisticated portfolio with yet another product: starting now, the Saxony-based company will offer high-tech snow carpets made of plastic in the German market. The "365"-called product is a high-tech development produced at the Bodensee and distributed from Switzerland, that creates prime conditions for winter sports enthusiasts in both winter and summer.
Thousands of small, resistant plastic hairs provide a snow-like feeling for cross-country skiers, alpine skiers and jumpers. The difference? The ski mats can be used even in high summer, and entirely without humidification.
"We have previously worked with special carpets to simulate landing on snow on our hills. These ski mats take things a step further - the gliding is so realistic that it can be used for alpine slopes and snow plow skiing as well", explains CEO Peter Riedel his decision to work with the producing RS Kunststoff GmbH.
The high-tech ski mats already have past their baptism of fire: For half a year, young jumpers and ski jumping fans in Tschagguns were able to test the mats on the mobile K4 hill of the Peter Riedel GmbH. First under winter- and now under summer conditions the jump was used in Tschagguns to enthuse the general public for the sport. The landing was so realistic, that it was barely noticed that it took place on plastics that.
"With this product, you can really make a difference, especially in such warm winters, as we experienced in the last years. Whether it is lift operators who use them for the tracks, cross-country teams, that outline a small training course or jump operators who wish to provide snow-like conditions on the slopes in summer: We were immediately impressed by the product and are pleased to include it in our product range", says Peter Riedel.
