BARCELONA, 3rd June 2014 – The king of Spain abdicates. Such a kind of information of course leaves marks, especially if you stay in Hotel “Rey Juan Carlos I”. This was a topic at the reception of the Spanish ski association yesterday evening which inaugurated the 49th FIS congress official.
Today there was the first presentation of the trailer “Peter Riedel Sports Technology” at the FIS-committee for ski jumping. The attention was high, the interest was large. Our folders snapped up. Aplauso – applause was what we got for our performance here in Spain.
During the committee meeting the upcoming world cup schedule was presented. In the season 2014/15 you can see ski jumping in summer as well as winter from Riedel inrun tracks. Places where this will be are among others Hinzenbach (AUT) and Nischny Tagil (RUS). For the first time the opening jump of the four hills tournament in Oberstdorf will be antedated to Sunday 28th December. That’s why in Garmisch-Partenkirchen will be an extra day for training of the athletes. Thereby the new year’s jump is going to pose an extra challenge for our company. The track has to be perfect on three instead of two day – but of course it will be perfect!
Another topic here in Barcelona is the world championship 2019. Which place will be popular? The applicants are Oberstdorf, Planica (who seem to be favorites), Seefeld and Almaty. In their welcoming exhibition stands they reach delicate culinary bites. But for sure the stomach will not tip the balance at the council members who have to decide on that.
And now: LEARNING SPANISH WITH PETER!
¡Hola! is – oh you got it – Spanish and means “hello!” So what does “winter sports” mean in Spanish? If you know the correct answer, write it on facebook and you take part in the lottery. You can win one of the books “Spuren des Erfolgs”. Closing date is 4th June 2014 12 o’clock. The right answer from yesterday (without lottery) was „trampolín“.
