Three jumps, three victories - five young ski jumpers will enter the grand finale of this year's international Children's Four Hills Tournament this Saturday with a maximum score of 300. Katharina Gruber (UVB Hinzenbach, AUT, - girls I), Christina Halla (SC Wiener Stadtadler, AUT, - girls II), Nikolai Holzer (WSV Oberaudorf, GER, - boys K7), David Gruber (SC Bischofshofen, AUT, - boys K8) and Tymoteusz Cienciala (WSS Wisla, POL, - boys K9) have so far won three of four competitions. They could succeed in doing what only Sven Hannawald has achieved so far at the “big one”: At the 50th Four Hills Tournament 2001/2 he won all four competitions in one tour.
“It is always impressive how concentrated and focused the young ski jumpers start. Of course, fun and sporting activities should be the main focus, but most of the young talents are already taking their sport very seriously”, says Peter Riedel, CEO of Peter Riedel GmbH, and the new main sponsor of the Children's Four Hills Tournament.
The club competition is still exciting: After three ski jumping competitions in Hinzenbach, Bischofshofen and Reit im Winkl the SC Bischofshofen (AUT) leads with 984 points, followed by the WSV Oberaudorf (GER) with 958 points and UVB Hinzenbach (AUT) with 695 points. The fourth and last jumping of this year's international Children's Four Hills Tournament will take place in Berchtesgaden this Saturday, September 23rd.
